Born on September 23, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois, she is an American actress, model, businesswoman, and fashion designer famous as LisaRaye. Her father David Ray McCoy was a Chicago businessman and her mother Katie McCoy is a former professional model. She grew up on the South side of Chicago and attended St. James College Prep. Kenwood Academy and later she went to Thornridge High School from where she graduated in 1985. After high school, McCoy attended Eastern Illinois University before embarking on a career in acting.
McCoy debuted as an actress playing the lead role in Reasons, an independent movie directed by Monty Ross. McCoy is probably best known for her portrayal of Diamond in The Players Club, directed and written by Ice Cube. She also made appearance in The Wood opposite Omar Epps and in Rhapsody, All About You and Go For Broke. In 2003, McCoy played the role of Neese James in the UPN/The CW sitcom All of US. The series ended in 2007. McCoy started her career as a model for fashion, but, prior to that she had married Archie Amerson. She did shows in churches and high schools in her hometown Chicago.
