Born as Anna Vladimirovna Shurochkina on August 15, 1990, she is better known by her stage name Nyusha, she is a Russian singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer and actress. Her father, Vladimir Shurochkin was an ex-member of the musical group Laskovyi Mai. Her mother, Irina Shurochkina used to sing in a rock band in her youth. She was only two years old when her parents divorced. However, she spent a lot of time with her father. Nyusha first visited the studio when she was five years of age. At the age of 11, she started performing on stage as the group Grizli. The group toured in Russia and Germany. She was seventeen when she changed her name from Anna to Nyusha. In 2008, Nyusha was placed seventh in the international contest New Wave 2008, and also wrote the last song of the heroine in the dubbed version of the movie Enchanted. In 2009, she came out with her first single (Howl at the moon in English). Her composition was named Song of the Year – 2009. At the concert Europa Plus Live 2009, she unveiled new songs Angel in Russian and the English Why? She was nominated for MUZ-TV on March 22, 2011. In October, Nyusha was nominated for the Best Russian Act on the MTV Europe Music Awards 2011. In December, the Billboard magazine included her song ‘It Hurts’ in its list of the top Russian pop songs in the last twenty years. In March 2013, she released the new song (Alone) which topped the charts in Russia, and it was the sixth single to do so. On February 22, 2014, the Russian branch of iTunes premiered the song Only. On May 31, 2014, Nyusha won in the category The Best Singer in Crocus City Hall which was hosted by premium channel RU.TV.
