Her second album, Heaven on Earth was released in 1987. Her next album, Runaway Horses has certified double platinum in Australia and platinum in the UK and Canada. In the late 1990s, the Go-Go’s reunited for a tour for their best-of album, Greatest. Carlisle released her fifth album, Real in 1993 and her sixth album, A Woman and a Man was released in 1996. In 2009, she took part in the 8th season of Dancing with the Stars and she was the first star who was eliminated. Her eighth album was Wilder Shores which was released in 2017.
In 1986, she married Morgan Mason with whom she has a son.
