Born as Janet Ruth Montgomery on 29 October 1985, she is an English film and television actress. Despite having been trained as a dancer at the Stella Mann College of Performing Arts, Bedford, Montgomery decided to become an actress instead of a professional dancer. Her lack of drama school training caused difficulties in getting acting roles initially. However, she achieved her big break after she produced a play with her friend Gethin Anthony.
Montgomery debuted on the big screen in the year 2010 when she played the roles of Ruth in The Rapture, Giselle in an independent horror film Dead Cert and a supporting role of Madeline in the Academy Award nominated psychological thriller Black Swan where she played a little Swan to Natalie Portman’s Oscar-winning role of the Black Swan.
In the same year, Montgomery was signed to play Paul Rudd’s lover in Our Idiot Brother. After they saw her audition tape in Los Angeles, producers found a way to work around her schedule and flew her to New York to start filming. During the filming of Entourage, Montgomery was invited to make an appearance on The League, a highly acclaimed semi-improvised show about American Football and she played the role of Ambrosia the stripper in the second season’s opening episode.
She is famous for playing the role of Ames in season two of Fox’s Human Target as well as for her roles in The Hills Run Red and Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead ad for playing Eric Murphy’s assistant Jennie in HBO’s Entourage. She played the role of protagonist Martina Garretti in a short run Made In Jersey. From 2014 to 2017, she starred as the lead character of Mary Sibley in an WGN America series titled Salem. She is also famous for playing the role of the mother of Gardner Elliot, Sarah Elliot in a 2017 movie The Space Between Us.
