Born on August 31, 1988 as Adrienne Kristina Reese, she is an American professional wrestler who is currently contracted with WWE and operates under the ring name Ember Moon on their Raw brand. She was born in Garland, Texas and attended the Lakeview Centennial High School where she used to play tennis and softball and also participated in the school’s chess club and mathlete program. During her high school days, Reese was nastily bullied by her peers for her obsession about video games and wrestling.
As a young child, Reese was introduced to wrestling by her grandfather during her visits to his house in the summer where she used to watch WWF’s Raw is War or SmackDown!
Moon started wrestling on the independent circuit as Athena, and competed regularly for promotions like Shimmer Women Athletes, Women Superstars Uncensored, Inspire Pro Wrestling, and Anarchy Championship Wrestling for which she happens to be a three-time ACW American Josh Champion.
Before debuting on the main roster, Moon participated in WWE’s developmental system, NXT, where she became an NXT Women’s Champion. She made her debut for All American Wrestling (AAW) on March 16, 2012 as Athena and teamed up with Christina Von Eerie and MsChif to beat the team of Sara Del Rey, Portia Perez and Nicole Matthews. On the September 11, 2015, announcement was made that Reese had signed on with WWE, and would be a part of their developmental territory NXT at the WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida. She debuted in-ring at an NXT live event on October 10, 2015 in a tag team match. She made her WWE video game debut as a playable character in WWE 2K18 and again in WWE 2K19.
Reese is married to professional wrestler Matthew Palmer. She loves comic books and the 1960s Batman TV series starring the late Adam West. Reese named Eddie Guerrero, Victoria, Trish Stratus, Lita, Taka Michinoku, Funaki, Rikishi, Too Cool, The Rock and Kurt Angle as her inspirations.
