Katherine Grace McNamara was born on November 22, 1995, in Kansas City, Missouri to Ursula and Evan McNamara. Her parents served in the U.S. military. She is an only child and was raised in Lee’s Summit, Missouri before moving to Los Angeles, California in 2011.

She had a recurring role as Claire in the Disney XD series Kickin’ It, and in two episodes of the Disney Channel series Jessie, as Bryn Brietbart, Emma Ross’s rival. She also appeared in an episode of The Thundermans. She played Harper Munroe in the MTV series Happyland, a resident of the park who pursues a boy despite already having a boyfriend.
