Born as Demi Bennett on 11 October 1996, she is an Australian professional wrestler currently working with WWE, as a member of their NXT UK brand under a ring name Rhea Ripley. She happens to be the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion.
Bennett has worked for various other Australian promotions like Professional Wrestling Alliance and Riot City Wrestling. She also worked in Japanese promotions such as Pro Wrestling Zero1, REINA or Diana.
Bennett joined the Riot City Wrestling in 2013 and spent many years in the promotion where she was a two-time RCW Women’s Champion. Bennett debuted in Melbourne City Wrestling on 14 June 2014 at the MCW New Horizons where she defended her RCW Women’s title in a three way match against Savannah Summers and Toni Storm. On 22 April 2017, Bennett participated in her final RCW match at the RCW Strength where she again successfully defended her title against Kellyanne.
In the year 2017, Bennett joined WWE. She was announced as a participant in the inaugural Mae Young Classic under the ring name of Rhea Ripley. Soon after she participated in the Mae Young Classic, Ripley was declared as a part of the women’s roster in a new brand named NXT UK. During the television filming of the show in August that year (aired throughout November), Ripley participated in an eight women tournament for the first ever NXT UK Women’s Championship. She defeated Xia Brookside in the opening round, Dakota Kai in the semi final and Toni Storm in the final to lift the championship.
At NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool, she was defeated by Toni Storm which brought to an end her 139 days long reign. At the Royal Rumble 2019, she appeared on the main roster by entering the women’s Royal Rumble at number 24. She defeated Kacy Catanzaro, Dana Brooke and Zelina Vega before getting eliminated by Bayley.
