Emma Roberts is an American actress. She was born on February 10, 1991, in Rhinebeck, New York. Her parents are Kelly Cunningham and actor Eric Roberts who separated when she was a baby. Her stepmother is Eliza Roberts and is the step-granddaughter of David Rayfiel and Lila Garrett. She is the stepdaughter of musician Kelly Nickels through her mother’ second marriage. She has a half- sister named Grace. Her aunt is actress Julia Roberts. During her childhood, she spent most of her time on the sets of her aunt Julia’s films. These experiences made her want to pursue acting although her mother wanted her to have a normal childhood.
She started studying at Sarah Lawrence College in 2011 but dropped out to pursue acting and to concentrate on work commitments.
She gained recognition for her lead role as Addie Singer on the Nickelodeon television series Unfabulous from 2004 to 2007. She made her film debut as Kristina Jung in the crime movie Blow. She also played the titular character in Nancy Drew in 2007, Wild Child, Hotel for Dogs, Valentine’s Day, Aquamarine and The Art of Getting By.
She later started acting in more mature roles in Lymelife, Scream 4, Adult World, We're the Millers, Palo Alto and Nerve She played the lead role of Chanel Oberlin on the horror-comedy series Scream Queens from 2015 to 2016, and appeared in four seasons of the horror anthology series American Horror Story.
She began dating her American Horror Story co-star Evan Peters since 2012. In July 2013, while staying at a hotel in Montreal, Quebec, they got into a physical argument where the actress physically assaulted her boyfriend. He declined to press charges and the actress was released several hours later citing the incident as unfortunate and were working to move past it. In March 2014, they got engaged.
She was the brand ambassador for Neutrogena, appearing in print and television ads for the company. She also appeared multiple times on Teen Vogue’s Best Dressed list in June 2007, September 2008, December 2008 and February 2009.
